The program’s (PPGCI) main objective is to train researchers and professionals for high level research and professional performance skills in the field of Information Science and related areas.

The Professional Master's Degree in Information and Knowledge Management has a course load of 390 hours distributed over 2 years. Our selection process is annual, in order to apply the candidate must have a completed undergraduate degree in areas related to Information Science, and present practical research project following to the guidelines listed in our selection process. The candidate must also present proficiency in a foreign language (English, Spanish or French) and an updated curriculum vitae on the Lattes Platform. Foreigners are required to present a Proficiency Certificate in Portuguese for Foreigners (Celpe-Bras) issued by the Ministry of Education.

PROFIN's principal area of focus is in “Information and Knowledge Management and Society”. The specific research areas of the degree are:

          Area 1 - Information, society and culture.

          Area 2 - Production, organization and communication of information.

The master's degree classes are in-person and offered during evenings from Monday to Friday and during mornings and afternoons on Saturdays
