PHARMACY |
Lines of Research: |
› CHEMISTRY AND PHARMACOLOGY OF NATURAL AND SYNTHETIC PRODUCTS
Pharmacy – It involves knowledge production related to pre-clinical pharmaceutical and toxicological obtaining, characterization, and evaluation of extracts of medicinal plants, and of synthetic and natural isolated compounds. It comprises the following themes: bio-guided study of medicinal plants; isolation and structural elucidation of chemical constituents that are present in regional plants; ethnopharmacological investigation; structural modification and pharmacological evaluation of phytochemicals of chemical plants, and synthesis of bioactive compounds from secondary metabolites.
› DEVELOPMENT, CONTROL AND USE OF DRUGS AND MEDICINES
PHARMACY- Its main objective is to produce innovative knowledge in the area of drugs and Medicine technology development, training qualified human resources to work with research and high education teaching. It includes the following themes: pre-formulation studies on new material for pharmaceutical or cosmetic use; technological development of pharmaceutical forms from extractive solutions, purified fractions, essential oils, and chemically defined compounds; obtaining pharmaceutical forms of modified liberation from nano and microparticulate systems; preparation of new materials from the inclusion of medicine in cyclodextrins, polymeric material and complexation with biocompatible inorganic materials; development of new tools for the physicochemical and biological control of pharmaceutical preparation. |
