The Music Education Degree at Universidade Federal de Sergipe was created on July 12, 2006, but the first cohort of students entered in early 2007. From 2010 to 2022, 166 students from the program have graduated and are now licensed, meaning they are music teachers. A Music Education Degree holder is qualified to teach music in public and private schools, social projects, etc. Besides teaching music classes, graduates can also work as musicians, band or choir conductors, music producers, arrangers, etc. The duration of the course is 4 (four) years. The course is structured into blocks of subjects offered by the Department of Music and other departments at UFS.
